Phonemos combines sets of permissions into roles. You may assign groups or individual users roles in order to give them permissions. See Permission management with predefined roles to read about the standard roles in the system.
We recommend giving permissions on groups instead of individuals as this usually enforces a stricted permission management concept while assigning roles to individuals can lead to chaos when exercised in large sites.
If a user inherits multiple roles through groups and individual assignments, the permissions are complementary, meaning the resulting permissions are the cumulation of all permissions in the current context.
