You may add a zone anywhere in the object tree in a topic.

Use zones to further restrict access to all underlying objects. Note that users need at least site access and read access to all higher-level objects.

Please note that within zones, you can also define alternate metadata configurations, which is used less often. See Manage structured metadata for more information on metadata.
